ကရင္ႏွစ္သစ္ကူးေန႔ျဖစ္တဲ့ ၂၀၀၈ ခု ဒီဇင္ဘာ ၂၇ ရက္ ညေန ၆ နာရီခန္႔မွာ ေညာင္ေလးပင္ခ႐ိုင္ ေက်ာက္ ႀကီးၿမိဳ႕နယ္ မအူပင္႐ြာအနီး ေစာဘဲဒိုးတပ္စခန္းထိုင္ နအဖတပ္ ခမရ ၃၅၀ က ခြဲမႉးဗိုလ္သက္ခိုင္ လက္ ေအာက္ခံ စစ္သားတဦးက မအူပင္ရြာသူ ကရင္မိန္းကေလး မနီကဗ်ာ (၇ ႏွစ္) ကို ေနအိမ္မွာ မုဒိမ္းက်င့္ၿပီး ေနာက္ ေသနတ္နဲ႔ပစ္သတ္လိုက္ပါတယ္။ဒီဇင္ဘာ ၁၆ ရက္မွာ ဘိတ္-ထားဝယ္ခ႐ိုင္ ထားဝယ္ၿမိဳ႕အေရွ႕ဘက္ ကစယ္ဒိုၿမိဳ႕နယ္ ထီးဘိုဘြာအထူးေဒသ အတြင္း ကေစာဖိုးမွာ ကြၽဲ-ႏြားေရာင္းဖို႔ ေမာင္းယူလာတဲ့ ဆီကူ႐ြာသား ၄ ေယာက္ကို နအဖတပ္ ခလရ ၁၀၁ က ပစ္သတ္ၿပီး ႏြား ၂ ေကာင္ ကြၽဲ ၂ ေကာင္ကို ခိုးယူသြားခဲ့ပါတယ္။ အသတ္ခံရတဲ့ ႐ြာသား ၄ ဦးကေတာ့ ေစာ ဆာသဲ (၃၅ ႏွစ္)၊ ေစာဒါးထူးဖိုး (၁၈ ႏွစ္)၊ ေစာဟာ့ဖလိုး (၁၆ ႏွစ္) နဲ႔ ေစာဒီးဒီ (၄၀ ႏွစ္) တို႔ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ကရင္အမ်ဳိးသားအစည္းအ႐ံုးနယ္ေျမ ဒူးပလာယာခ႐ိုင္ ေကာ့ကရိတ္ၿမိဳ႕နယ္မွာ နအဖတပ္ စကခ ၁၉ နည္း ဗ်ဴဟာ ၁ ရဲ႕ နည္းဗ်ဴဟာမႉးအဆင့္ရွိ ဗိုလ္မႉးႀကီး ခင္ေမာင္ခ်ဳိဟာ ခလရ ၁၀၆ တပ္စခန္းမွာ ဝါခမိေက်း႐ြာအုပ္ စု၊ ဘယ္လယ္မယ္ ေက်း႐ြာအုပ္စု၊ ကနယ္ကေမာ့ေက်းရြာအုပ္စု၊ က်ယ္ေက်းရြာအုပ္စု၊ ဒဲဖီးေက်းရြာအုပ္စု၊ တ ေနးလ်ဴေက်းရြာအုပ္စု၊ ႐ူေတာေက်းရြာအုပ္စုနဲ႔ သေဝါဖ်ာေက်းရြာအုပ္စုတို႔က အုပ္စုလူႀကီးမ်ားကို ဆင့္ေခၚ စည္းေဝးၿပီး ဒီဇင္ဘာ ၁၁ ရက္က စလို႔ တပတ္ကို ၃ ရက္ တပ္စခန္းသို႔ သတင္းပို႔ဖို႔နဲ႔ ကားလမ္းေပၚတိုက္ပြဲျဖစ္ ရင္ သက္ဆိုင္ရာ ေက်း႐ြာအုပ္စုလူႀကီးကို ေထာင္ ၇ ႏွစ္၊ ေက်းရြာလူႀကီးကို ေထာင္ ၂ ႏွစ္ခ်မယ္လို႔ ၿခိမ္း ေျခာက္ခဲ့ပါတယ္။တဆက္တည္းမွာ နအဖတပ္ ခမရ ၅၈၇ တပ္ရင္းမႉးအဆင့္ရွိတဲ့ သန္းဝင္းကလည္း ကနယ္ကေမာ့-ဝါခမိ ကား လမ္းတေလွ်ာက္မွာ တရက္ကို ႐ြာသား ၃၆ ဦး ကင္းေစာင့္ခိုင္းၿပီး တိုက္ပြဲျဖစ္ခဲ့ရင္ အဲဒီတိုက္ပြဲေနရာ ကင္းတာ ဝန္က် ႐ြာသားကို ေထာင္ ၂ ႏွစ္ခ်မယ္လို႔ ၿခိမ္းေျခာက္ထားပါတယ္။
Insulting Karens on Karen New Year Day: SPDC junta's lawlessnessOn 2008 December 27, Karen New Year's Day, at about 6:00 PM, a soldier from Lt. Thet Khaing's Company in SPDC Army LIR 350 deployed at Saw Behldoe outpost near Ma-u-bin village in Nyaunglebin District Kyaukkyee Township raped a seven-year old Karen girl named Ma Ni Kabyar at her home while her parents were away and then shot her to death.On December 16, in Mergui-Tavoy District Kasehdo Township Htee Bo-bwa Special Region, soldiers from SPDC Army IB 101 killed four villagers trading oxen and buffaloes at Kasawphoe and stole two oxen and two buffaloes. The murdered villagers were Saw Hser Thel (aged 35), Saw Dah Htoo Phoe (aged 18), Saw Hut Phloe (aged 16) and Saw Deedi (aged 40) all of whom came from Se-ku village.In KNU territory Dooplaya District Kawkareik Township, Col. Khin Maung Cho, Commander of No.1 Tactical Operations Command of No.19 MOC summoned village tract elders to IB 106 camp and ordered them to report to the army camp three days a week starting from December 11th, also threatening them with prison terms if skirmishes broke out on the road in their respective vicinity. The elders were from Wahkami, Belemai, Kaneh Kamaut, Kyeh, Dellphee, Ta-nayliu, Ru-taw and Tha-wawphya village tracts. They were threatened with seven years in jail for village tract elders and two years in jail for village elders.Similarly, Than Win, Commander of LIR 587, also issued orders for guarding of Kaneh Kamaut-Wahkami Road with 36 villagers every day, threatening them with two years' prison sentences if battle broke out in their allotted sentry area.
